It’s all about the hair I know. When traveling light though it’s just not possible to bring every hair texturizer, pomade, and phomollient that makes your hair get that perfect just fell out of bed shagginess (can you tell I speak from experience). I haven’t even brought up hair dryers, diffusers, curling irons, or hair straighteners. Most European women have simple hairstyles, actually some of the most stunning European girls I’ve seen look like they just rolled out of bed.
“Wash ‘n go†haircuts or hairstyles are really the way to go when traveling, perhaps a dab of product but that’s it. Not only does this simplify what you pack but who wants to spend all morning getting ready when you could be out and about exploring a new city. Shorter hairstyles with shaggy layers are very wash ‘n go. Longer hairstyles can be put into chic ponytails or headbands.
Now for those of you who can’t live without your hair appliances I can only concede to packing a hairdryer. Once curling irons and hair straighteners enter the picture you are on your own. Some hotels, even budget ones, provide hair dryers so check with them first and then you don’t even have to worry about packing one. If you do bring a hair dryer make sure it is dual voltage and of course travel size. If it is dual voltage then once you are in Europe you switch the voltage and use a power adaptor. You could also plan to purchase a hair dryer once you arrive in Europe. Micro fiber hair “turbans†can also absorb a lot of water and cut down on hair drying time.
